ITV soaps schedule for 20th–24th July 2026: the World Cup is over and Emmerdale and Coronation Street are finally back on our screens at their normal times.
After weeks of football-related schedule chaos, both ITV soaps are airing every weekday again. Emmerdale is back at 8pm, with Coronation Street following at 8:30pm.

Emmerdale spoilers for 20th–24th July 2026
It looks like another big week in the village, with Charity, Serena, Ross, Cain, Kyle, Kev, Lewis, Dawn, Billy and Gabby all caught up in the drama.
The biggest storylines this week include:
- Charity receives a devastating blow when the CPS decides there is not enough evidence to take action against Dr Todd.
- Mack and Vanessa refuse to give up and start looking for other possible victims or hidden complaints linked to Todd.
- Vanessa and Jacob meet a hospital HR representative, but they are left wondering whether more is being covered up.
- Charity comes face to face with Helen, another woman who has suffered at Todd’s hands, raising the possibility of a breakthrough.
- Serena talks her way back into Robert’s life, despite Aaron’s ongoing suspicions about her motives.
- Serena turns her attention to Ross and appears to use his interest in her to keep herself close to the Home Farm drama.
- Kim discovers there has been a break-in at Home Farm and realises a USB stick has been stolen.
- Aaron remains deeply suspicious of Serena, especially after everything connected to John and Victoria.
- Kev tries to make up for lost time with Lewis, but his intense efforts leave Lewis feeling overwhelmed.
- A face from Kev’s past arrives in the village, threatening the fresh start Kev is trying to build.
- Cain struggles to accept that Monty is dying and becomes desperate to find another way to save him.
- Cain’s camping trip with Kyle and Graham ends in disaster when he storms off, falls down a hillside and is left trapped overnight.
- Moira feels increasingly shut out by Cain as he withdraws from her emotionally and refuses to open up properly.
- Dawn tries to enjoy wedding planning, but she is still uncomfortable about Billy and Gabby’s romance.
- Gabby’s anxieties around food continue to affect her relationship with Billy.
So this week’s Emmerdale brings heartbreak for Charity, more suspicion around Serena, trouble for Kev and Lewis, Cain facing another painful ordeal and fresh tension around Billy, Gabby and Dawn.
Coronation Street spoilers for 20th–24th July 2026
Over in Weatherfield, Sarah, Gary, Kit, Maria, Dylan, Betsy, Todd, Christina, Summer, David, Shona and Sam are all part of another packed week on the cobbles.
The biggest storylines this week include:
- Maria discovers proof that Gary lied about where he was on the night Theo died.
- Maria finds a photo that places Gary on the street, proving he could not have been at the builders’ yard all evening as he claimed.
- Maria tells Gary she may have no choice but to retract the false statement she gave the police.
- Gary’s lies start closing in on him, leaving both him and Sarah under more pressure.
- Sarah finally confesses the truth about Theo’s death, revealing that she killed him.
- Sarah also shares what she knows about the attack at No.8, with Jodie’s involvement coming under fresh scrutiny.
- Kit is left stunned by Sarah’s confession and is forced into an impossible position.
- Kit starts looking more closely at the Theo murder evidence, even though he is no longer officially involved in the case.
- Sarah is arrested on suspicion of Theo’s murder as the police investigation finally catches up with her.
- Sarah is later charged with Theo’s murder, leaving Kit under even more pressure as he tries to process everything.
- Todd admits to Summer that he knew Sarah had killed Theo, leaving Summer shocked by the secret he has been keeping.
- Todd and Summer make plans to leave Weatherfield temporarily and visit Eileen and Jason in Thailand.
- Dylan visits Betsy in hospital and finally accepts the part he played in her suffering a stroke.
- Betsy faces the difficult reality of her recovery as she tries to regain her independence.
- Christina is caught out by Todd as her spending addiction continues to spiral.
- Ollie considers leaving Weatherfield after being offered a job in Brighton, but the opportunity slips away.
- David and Shona learn that baby Harper can finally come home from hospital.
- Sam is also ready to be discharged, but Nick worries about how he will cope when he learns that Sarah has been charged with murder.
So this week’s Coronation Street is serving up Sarah’s confession, Gary’s lies closing in on him, a murder charge, Dylan facing Betsy, more fallout from Theo’s death, and two emotional homecomings for the Platts.
