What happened on The Traitors last night (15 January 2026)?

Last night was top-tier Traitors. A creepy cabin challenge with proper seance vibes, a shield twist that encouraged peak sneakiness, and a roundtable where the group once again got distracted by “vibes” instead of actually locking onto the Traitors.

Who was murdered on The Traitors last night?

Technically, Thursday’s episode opened by revealing who was murdered from Wednesday night’s Traitors decision. And at breakfast, it was confirmed the murder victim was Adam.

The Traitors (Rachel and Stephen) did pick someone without a shield, so this wasn’t a “failed murder” situation. It landed exactly as intended.

Straight away, it cranked the paranoia up because everyone starts replaying conversations like it’s CCTV footage.

And you can really feel the pressure building now. People are twitchier, reactions are bigger and every tiny comment feels like it could start a pile-on.

Jessie is especially interesting to watch. She’s been spot on with her observations and she’s got Stephen under suspicion… but the frustrating part is that no-one is truly listening (yet).

What was the creepy cabin challenge on The Traitors?

The task was set in a creepy abandoned cabin with a spooky, séance-style feel. Contestants had to work through cryptic clues (anagram-style), then a chosen contestant raced outside to find the matching gravestone to bank money for the prize pot.

There were six chances to win £1,000, so the pot could have gone up by £6,000 if they nailed every round.

And yes, it was properly unsettling in the best way. The atmosphere alone had everyone second-guessing themselves.

Why did the prize pot only go up £4,000?

They managed to add £4,000 in the end.
So effectively they got 4 out of 6.

The missing £2,000 came down to two things:

  1. At least one round didn’t land (wrong grave / ran out of time / didn’t complete it properly), so the £1,000 didn’t get banked.
  2. The shield twist: there was one immunity shield available, and taking it came at the expense of money for the pot.

And yes… Sam grabbed the shield first.
Very “every man for himself”, which might be smart gameplay, but it also screams “I’m hiding something” in Traitors-world.

Who was banished on The Traitors last night and why?

At the roundtable, the group voted to banish Sam.

What’s interesting is that it didn’t feel like the Faithful were anywhere near the actual Traitors. It was more that Sam’s behaviour around the shield and the task gave people enough doubt to pile on. One questionable move and suddenly you’re public enemy number one.

Why is nobody focusing on the actual Traitors at the roundtable?

Because The Traitors is basically a social experiment where suspicion spreads faster than facts.

When a twist like the shield appears, people stop looking for Traitors and start looking for liars and those are not always the same thing. Last night felt like a perfect example of that.

And this is why Jessie’s role is so interesting right now. She’s clocking Stephen’s behaviour, but she needs backup from other Faithful, otherwise she’ll end up looking “too certain” and that rarely ends well.

Did Sam deserve the banishment… or did the Faithful boot the wrong person again?
And are you listening to Jessie, or ignoring her like everyone else seems to be? 😅
